Statement mirrors could be exactly what your home needs to take it up a level. Here are seven of our favourites.
Statement mirrors have been arriving in my email inbox all month, so I thought it was time to select the pieces that will give your space the most impact. There’s something for everyone, from real showstoppers to more subtle designs. So whatever your style, you’re sure to find the right statement mirror for you.
This Arteriors beauty
Firstly in our statement mirrors edit, we have this stunning full-length piece. Inspired by a contemporary Italian woodworker, it has subtle grooved patterns carved into the wooden frame. It was created by interior designer Beth Webb, whose work boasts beautiful neutral colour schemes and natural fabrics and materials.
This glam yet subtle wall mirror
If you’re a fan of Art Deco, this most 1920s of statement mirrors is for you. Inspired by the iconic art movement, it has a polished champagne gold finish. Its diameter is 90cm, so it will make a bold statement wherever you place it. And the fixings are simple and standard, so it’s easy to hang.
This hexagonal bathroom mirror
Geometrical shapes are in at the moment, especially the hexagon. However, this model is vertical rather than horizontal. It’s made of stainless steel with a brushed brass finish, and also has an edgy industrial vibe which would suit any modern or contemporary bathroom.
This natural mango wood mirror
Another Art Deco-inspired model, the Ava is crafted from three concentric circles of beautiful mango wood. There is luxe brass cladding framing the circles, which complements the wood perfectly. We can see this most luxe of statement mirrors working in pretty much any room of the house.
This full-length wall mirror
Statement mirrors are rarely so chic. Designed by dynamic duo Marconato & Zappa for modern furniture brand Bonaldo, this mirror features a gorgeous wood panel on one side in either canaletto walnut or coal oak. Then there’s a side support panel and lower shelf which come in a range of lacquer or metal finishes, so you can customise them.
This queen of statement mirrors
Of all the statement mirrors featured here, this is my personal favourite. Like a porthole to another world, its stainless steel has been polished to a high gloss. It’s created using FiDU technology, which means two shapes have been cut from steel sheets, welded together around their edges and then inflated into this stunning 3D design. Just lush.
This rounded full-length model
Lastly in our round-up of statement mirrors is this simple modern piece: a minimalist marvel. Full-length with rounded edges and framed in tan-coloured leather, you could hang it in the bedroom and use it to get ready in the mornings. However, it would look equally glamorous as an accessory in the living area.
