Luxe interior design is one of 2022’s major trends. Pinterest named ‘limitless luxe’ as a style to watch this year, saying ‘in 2022, people will give luxurious makeovers to their home’s nooks and crannies’. So if you’re after some gold, rose gold, brass and generally blingy design pieces, this is the perfect edit for you
Luxe interior design is officially in. And I’ve got to be honest: this is one of my favourite trends ever. I love a touch of luxury, from copper and gold finishes to marble, but think designs should be classy as well as glam. So I think I’ve fallen in love with the kitchen below. Snuggle up with a suitably luxe drink (hot chocolate with marshmallows?), then take a look at these divine pieces, and you might fall in love too…
This stunning gold marble-effect kitchen
Firstly, this breathtaking marble-effect kitchen is next-level luxe. It features a beautiful white-and-gold-veined stone-effect glass splashback and hand-painted gold-and-copper leaf veining in the island, which sweeps through the curved cabinets. Just dreamy.
This showstopping statement light
Secondly, I have a huge crush on this beautiful light with its tangle of gold. Each Inari light is bespoke and therefore completely original. So you can choose the size and length to fit your space, and the flamboyant Inari will elevate it hugely. I might start saving up, then…
This gold leaf honeycomb side table
The unusual honeycomb shape of this side table is gorgeous but unique too. It’s made from moulded iron but has a rich gold leaf finish. There’s only a little space on top, so choose what it holds carefully. Why not balance the latest issue of KBB magazine on it?
This elegant dining table and graceful pendant light
Luxe interior design is embodied by this dining table. It’s crafted from intertwining arcs of steel and then complemented perfectly by the pendant lights (second picture below), which are like fine jewellery, both delicate and truly glamorous.
These diamond-embossed bathroom taps
These bathroom taps are the epitome of old-school glamour, with a modern twist. Embossed with a diamond motif, they’re handcrafted in Italy out of antique brass and would add impact to any basin. Team with gold or brass accessories for the perfect spa bathroom.
This Champagne-coloured glass vase
Next up in our luxe interior design edit is this stately vase. It’s crafted from Champagne-coloured crystal, and its many angles create a wonderful prismatic reflection. It’s over 20cm wide and water-tight, so you could either fill it with a giant bunch of flowers or a big cream pillar candle.
This opulent rose gold counter stool
I’ve had my eye on these spectacular counter stools for a while. Featuring a soft seat in the colour chalk, their pièce de résistance is the electroplated rose gold frame. Then there’s a perfectly symmetrical laser cut hexagonal design filling the back of the seat. So chic!
This low bouclé stool
This simple Scandinavian-inspired footstool is made of this season’s most on-trend fabric, ivory white bouclé. It has brass legs for a luxe touch, though they’re also available in black. Use the piece as an opulent sofa footrest or an extra seat in your living room.
This smoked gold plug socket and light switch
Sure, buy big ticket items, but why not add a nod to the luxe interior design trend by adding little details? Dowsing & Reynolds do incredible light switches and plug sockets. In addition, the smoked gold here will age and change with wear, adding to its charm.
This striking gold wall clock
Crafted from steel with a gold finish, this large wall clock has a dazzling fan-style, crimped-edge face but rocks sleek baton hour and minute hands. The result is minimalist yet intriguing, and a great addition to the luxe interior design trend. It’s available in black and sage green too, but I love the gold.
This speckled rose gold cushion
Think luxe interior design is too bold for you? Then you’ll like this foil-printed speckled cushion, as it’s both subtle and stylish. A gold speckled print covers the soft pink velvet. Why not buy several cushions and decorate your bed with them, or arrange them on a decadent white leather sofa?
This beautifully-crafted brass-and-steel sideboard
Lastly, this innovative piece is made of wood covered in hammered brass with a stainless steel mirror coating. Cracks are created in the steel so the brass shines through. It’s an absolutely breathtaking design which is sure to have guests gasping at it in wonder.
In short, luxe interior design pieces are huge this year. If you’d like to browse another edit, then feast your eyes on the Americano trend.
