Are colourful bathrooms the trend to watch in 2025?

How does ‘dopamine décor’ – probably the happiest interiors trend of the year express itself in interior design? We reveal how to embrace joyful, colourful bathrooms in your next project…

Happiness is no longer just this abstract notion everyone seems to be chasing. It’s taking over interiors too, with more and more jolly, optimistic design ideas and launches stealing the show. Whether it’s a maximalist, animal-printed wallpaper or a subtle pink tub, the so-called ‘dopamine décor’ has one single goal: to bring you joy.

Alex Heslop, trend expert at Flooring Superstore, says, “Dopamine décor seems to be the word on everyone’s lips. The bathroom is a great place to start when it comes to embracing this trend, which is all about taking a fun and adventurous approach to your home décor choices.”

Showstopping, flamboyant patterns are all the rage in 2025, or you can simply introduce happy colours for a cheerful effect. “By choosing warm colours like yellows, blues, oranges and pinks, you are helping to evoke feelings of happiness,” says Alex. “To incorporate colour in a more understated way, opt for a pastel palette.”
