Easter tablescaping ideas to wow your guests

Easter is undeniably adorable. We’re talking cute baby animals, spring floral arrangements and colourful painted eggs – the perfect backdrop for a holiday celebration.

Are you hosting this upcoming bank holiday weekend? Great news – we’re bringing you our favourite Easter tablescaping ideas to get your creativity going.

We know a good Easter table setup is not just about the chocolate eggs… Although, last year, I ate a whole Easter egg for breakfast like a child – no regrets. So this year, I am hosting an afternoon tea in an attempt to be more civilised. The menu, which will be homemade, includes: ‘flower’ vegetable focaccia, chocolate hot cross buns, carrot cake, and baby chick cookies. Mouth watering? Same here!

As I might have gone a bit overboard on the catering, now I need a suitable table arrangement to accompany my extravagant baking. Luckily for you – and for me – I’ve found some amazing Easter tablescaping ideas.

So, whether you are hosting an Easter brunch, a Sunday roast, or an afternoon tea like me, take a look at these pretty Easter decorations…

There is something about Easter that is so cute – between the bunnies and the baby chicks, it is simply charming! Mix the classic Easter colours with soft pinks, yellows, blues and greens, and combine natural textures to achieve that country-style look.

Use white or beige as your base colours and lean into earthy hues for layers. Then, why not add in some natural accents like wood or stone? To inject some vibrant shades back into the scheme, use floral arrangements or spring wreaths and use bright Easter-themed napkins or glassware.

Spring bloom

This Easter, you can go dramatic with some bold and beautiful colours. To not overwhelm your guests – or distract them from your delicious cooking – choose complementing colours in a similar tone to keep the palette consistent.

Or pick a few distinct hues and work the whole table around them. Remember the 60-20-10 rule in interior design? You can use it for table settings – pick one shade to be the main colour and then add in some accent hues to match.

Easter place setting ideas

While the overall table has to look appealing, the place settings require just as much attention as the key details. Remember to look at the layers and make sure that everything flows – from the placemat and the tableware to the napkins.

If you don’t have Easter-themed napkins, just roll up a regular napkin into a long log and then use some twine to tie up the bottom third to create the head.  The rest of the napkin forms the ears – just play with it a bit to set them in place. To finish the look, add a chocolate egg in the centre.
