But first, what’s popular in bathrooms at the moment? Daring patterns, such as stripes and checks, are on the rise. Perfect for adding depth and interest to any wall or floor, these laying patterns are especially handy if you want to cleverly zone your bathroom. For example, you can go for timeless chequerboard flooring and add a fun twist to your shower by decorating the walls with linear stripes.

So, if you feel like your bathing and showering space lacks charm, play around with fun laying patterns to achieve an envy-worthy design.

Square solutions are also proving popular – great for upgrading your showering space or even cladding your bath or washstand for a modern and cohesive look. The best bit? They are available in a myriad of colours and finishes, from matt to glazed and glossy. And, if you really want to get creative with your bathroom, opt for coloured grout.

However, if you prefer a more pared-back aesthetic, natural or stone-inspired tiles are always a timeless choice – whether you fancy large-format and drenched in swirls or neutral with subtle veins. Terrazzo or speckled-effect slabs are also another stylish way of adding a dash of character to your space.

Lastly, a classic favourite at the KBB HQ are zellige tiles – these Moroccan-inspired slabs are imperfectly perfect. Expect irregularities in shape, colour and glaze, however, that’s all part of their charm. And Zellige solutions are ideal for infusing your bathroom with a spa-like feel.
