Boost your bathroom style with these colourful vanity unit ideas

Bathroom vanity units painted in colourful shades

If it’s time to upgrade your bathroom storage, why not give your getting-ready area a much-needed refresh with a vanity unit drenched in a mood-boosting shade?

Whether you’re confident or shy with colour, a great place to start introducing it in your bathroom is – drum roll, please – the vanity unit. Apart from helping you keep your everyday essentials organised, it will also brighten up your scheme or even add a dash of drama, depending on the shade you choose.

Vanity units are available in a wide spectrum of colours these days and if you go bespoke, you can customise your dream paint shade or match it to your sanitaryware. For example, you can opt for a storage solution in pared-back hues such as sugary pastels or go all out with a rich and vibrant tone – from burnt terracotta to deep forest green, both very on-trend in kitchen and bathroom design at the moment. Any colour goes, as long as it works in tandem with your current scheme.

What’s more, there are options on the market for any-size bathroom – think compact two-drawer wall-mounted vanities or grand, freestanding double designs saturated in charming colourways.

If you really want to take your design one step further, you can select a unit that’s embellished with modern fluting or more classical frames. To make your new vanity the centrepiece of the room, ensure you keep the other elements such as tiles, sanitaryware and accessories minimalist.

Or why not lean even more into colour and drench your entire bathroom in it? From the walls and floors to furniture, this technique is perfect for achieving a stylish and cocooning effect – and I must say, this is one of my favourite decorating ideas of 2024!
