Shop the look: matt black bathroom fittings, straight from the KBB Show

Origins Living matt black

Walking around the KBB Show in Birmingham (which is going on *right now*), the team have been spotting a whole host of trends – from the latest shower ideas to absolute kitchen must-haves.

Matt black bathroom designs, as it turns out, are very high on the popularity scale. I’m not talking about the whole space, in case you immediately went ‘oh no, too dark for me’.

Instead, we’re seeing the shade used for highlight pieces, from baths and taps to the real details (think soap dispensers or shelves). There’s something for every taste, but also every project size – no matter if you want a complete makeover or simply wish to give your scheme an update.

Matt black isn’t limited to smaller items – this tub from Acquabella features sleek line, a geometric pattern, and looks comfortable for a long soak, too.
Frontline Bathrooms showed a matt black steel-framed shower enclosure with matching brassware – ideal for adding an industrial accent to your scheme.

At Showerwall, a matt black basin and tap look great with a simple round mirror and terrazzo wall covering.

Also at Showerwall, spotted by our features editor Georgina. A matt black tap and plug (talk about coordinating the small details) create a striking contrast to the soft pink basin and the white and pink patterned wall.
Imex showcased not only metallic brassware and industrial-style steel-framed glazing, but paired them with a striking matt black basin and WC.
Go all out and create a seamless look by having your basin be part of your countertop – as seen here on Dansani‘s stand. Matt black handles and a round mirror with black frame complete the look.
Our features editor Georgina on the Frontline Bathrooms stand. They paired a striking matt black basin – placed on a black countertop, too – with gold accessories to add impact. A glossy black soap dispenser adds another texture, too.
‘All matt black, please,’ was the motto for this display on Endon Lighting‘s stand – from the basin, tap, and accessories right through to the pill-shaped mirror and (crucially) the bathroom lighting fixtures above.
Open shelving continues to be popular – so why not make it matt black, for an extra boost? Our editor Lindsay spotted this at the Dansani stand.
