It felt comfortingly familiar ambling my way through each lane at Decorex 2024, ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ at all the latest textiles, hardware, lighting, paint and accessories that make the interior design show so appealing – and an annual treat for me.

A celebration of interior design, Decorex 2024 is a four-day event visited by 13,000 people. It has nearly 300 interiors brands showcasing their new launches and best sellers, so there was plenty to explore.

As I looked around the latest offerings, a few key trends emerged: big, bold and colourful – whether that’s a chunky industrial tap, large marble veining, thick-striped curtains, or scalloped blue basins (yes, really).

However, it was only after curating my favourite pieces into one place that I realised I’ve created a trend all on its own, and I’m calling it: ‘It’s all peachy’. From pastel pinks, dusty reds to soft oranges, these tones seem to be everywhere right now – as you’ll see from this edit.

So, without further ado, here are my favourite looks, pieces and design ideas – I hope this will help inspire your current or next project.

Intimate nooks

In terms of interior design, it’s all about intimate dining nooks and clever drinks storage right now – and Benjamin Moore hit this on the head with its deliciously decorated stand.

The brand teamed up with British interior designer Isabella Worsley, and together they aimed to celebrate rich colour, pattern and ‘eclectic Britishness’. The build featured a moody and elegant bar and a one-of-a-kind ‘paint cellar’.

Offset with atmospheric lighting, antique décor and eclectic fabrics, the rich hues and detailed design of the space evoke an unmissable sense of drama and escapism.

Curated from a range of over 3500 shades, Isabella chose a paint palette that included jewel box hues of teal, emerald and cognac complemented with an earthy selection of beige and brown.

Sugary appliances

I did a double take when I saw this beautiful Officine Gullo range cooker, and instantly walked (I think in slow motion) towards it like a moth to a flame. The Fiorentina 120, in a ‘Cotton Candy’ colourway with a brushed copper finish boasts high performance, user-friendly controls and iconic design. Plus, the design looks like something out of Disney castle – am I right?

Edgy brassware

Samuel Heath had a gorgeous display of its collection named after the address of Samuel Heath’s factory, 100 Leopold Street where it’s been based since 1850.

The One Hundred collection (including the Modern bath filler in Antique Brass Matt finish pictured below) celebrates the brand’s heritage, showcasing the fact that its products have been designed and manufactured in the heart of England for two centuries. This style of brassware would work well in any type of bathroom. It would give an edge to a more traditional bathroom or pair beautifully in an industrial-style space.

Eye-catching basin designs

Launching in conjunction with Decorex 2024, Kast has introduced a series of larger washbasin designs with generous vanity space for those looking to scale up. The new collection includes three different styles, one inspired by the traditional bucket sink, featuring a deep and wide structure for versatility and practicality, another highlighting the sweeping curvature of an inner bowl and a minimalist option with offset vanity space.

I particularly liked the Aura Pedestal design – a minimalist yet striking freestanding basin crafted from concrete, featuring a contemporary ribbed surface. It would look perfect in a maximalist or Gatsby-inspired downstairs bathroom.

Characterful curtains

From intricate lace patterns to chunky stripes – Tori Murphy‘s stand was full of beautiful textiles (I felt like I was inside some kind of bijou circus). With the curtain cabinet dominating social media feeds, fun material like this is seriously all the rage right now.

Autumn feeling

Launching its Autumn Winter 2024 bathroom collection, Clearwater Interiors’ Decorex 2024 stand was super chic. It featured items within its latest collection of four new colourways, including Soft Pink, Navy Blue, Military Green and Copper Brown.

The star of the show was the Clement bath in Soft Pink with matt white interior. Big, bold and colourful – what’s not to love? This would look stunning as a splash of colour by itself or if you colour-drenched your bathroom in this tone.

Marble on marble on marble

Never have I seen so much statement marble in kitchens and bathrooms – so when I spotted Stone and Ceramic Warehouse’s new Breccia Capraia slab taking centre stage on the main part of its stand, I had to stop and stare. 

Pretty lighting designs

A wonderland of lampshades, Pooky’s stand at Decorex 2024 was incredibly interactive showcasing all its latest styles and designs – including the Doorstop rechargeable lamps. The cordless range includes a new category of magnetic picture lights and wall lights, charged by USB-C with 10 hours of running time. The problem you’ll find is choosing which shade (there’s a selection of more than 300!) to put with which base.
