Curtain design ideas for your kitchen, bedroom and bathroom

Interiors lovers have brought the curtain back in big and unexpected ways. If you’re used to seeing fabulous fabrics dressing windows, we’re here to show you more creative ways of using materials – from sink skirts to bed canopies.

Aesthetically pleasing and versatile, there are so many clever curtain design ideas to enhance the look and practicality factor of your kitchen, bedroom and bathroom…

Ideas for your kitchen

Starting in the kitchen, curtains are ideal for sprucing up your space while making the most of every precious inch. For example, fabric skirts, used either for your cupboards or inside your walk-in pantry, can help you inject country-chic charm and personality into your design while concealing pots and pans or unwanted items on display. They are also great for keeping undercounter appliances or even waste bins out of sight, says Lauren L. Caron, designer and founder of Studio Laloc.

What’s more, you can replace the door to a secondary storage room with statement materials. For more curtain design ideas and tips for including fabrics in your kitchen-diner or utility room, click here.

Bedroom curtains for anything but your windows

If you want to elevate your bedroom, using curtains in creative ways is a great decorating tool. Bed canopies, apart from adding an extra layer of cosiness to your bedroom, can help provide privacy, for example. They’re also ideal if you’re looking to completely transform your design into a boutique hotel retreat. And, you can even use fabrics on stylish metallic rods to separate the sleep space from the dressing area.

Plus, thanks to the myriad of options available on the market – from materials to daring patterns and various colour palettes – you can easily find the right solution to suit your style. You can also opt for bespoke fabrics to keep a consistent style across your window dressing and other soft furnishings throughout your scheme. Click here to get inspired.

Curtain design ideas for your bathroom

The curtain is back in the bathroom, too! Similarly to kitchens, you can use fabrics as pretty and practical skirts to conceal the area underneath your vanity unit, keeping a clean and uncluttered space. Shower curtains are also fast rising in popularity thanks to their high efficiency in catching water spray and visual appeal. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite designs here.
