Want a new kitchen just in time for the holidays? Then, say hello to our July issue – out now – where we’re bringing you a handy guide on getting the timeline right, and so much more. Here’s what to expect this month…
My job is an incredibly varied one; one minute I’m having a 10am breakfast meeting in Claridge’s, the next, I’m at a showroom watching how a shower toilet operates (I enjoy both equally, by the way). This month, I found myself in a garden centre in Berkshire trying to choose between peonies and gypsophila for a kitchen shoot I was set to style the next day. (You can see the results of this shopping trip on the cover of this issue.)
Stunning, real kitchens
While my day-to-day differs greatly, so do the kitchens on our covers. Usually, you’ll find big-budget, big spaces, big concepts – but for this issue, I was attracted to something else: big dreams.
I first came across Dot’s Instagram page (@thefaffingnest) when she was starting on her renovation journey with a petite budget, but plenty of ideas. I watched as she and her dad put together her kitchen with their own hands, and decided I wanted to know more about her story and the design process.
Fast forward a few months, and here she and her renovation are – adorned on the front cover, accessorised with those freshly cut flowers I took probably far too long in choosing. In fact, her story has inspired me to reach out to other renovators on Instagram and see their kitchen befores and afters.
Get your kitchen in time for Christmas
While looking at the cover, you may have noticed (along with that gorgeous bouquet) that we also had the audacity to use the ‘C’ word in July. I would apologise for this sacrilege, but actually if you’re wanting a new kitchen in time for December, you’ll be thanking me later.
Trust me, if you’re really serious about getting a kitchen design that is perfect for you and your space, the time to start looking is now.
Project inspiration
Also in the issue, you’ll find – less festive, you’ll be pleased to know – features on some great design ideas. These include Med-style kitchens (Sangria, anyone?), double showers, to loft conversions – I’ll definitely need this, due to being in the very early stages of one myself. Watch this space!

As always, I hope you enjoy the issue,
