With spring just around the corner, we’re taking a look at the latest trends and releases to inspire your room refresh this season…
Sweet mocha, rustic pastels and fun geometry are some of our favourite looks from the Spring Summer 2025 collections – but which will be your top style?
Geometry games
To leave the winter blues behind and welcome the warmer season with a bang, designers are turning to happy looks this Spring Summer 2025. A playful, almost game-like approach to shape and pattern takes over, with usual suspects such as stripes and checkerboard, but also shiny wiggle table lamps, dotted carpets, dice cushions, and even skirting that looks like candy wrapper, making you either want to taste them or play with them (the latter is probably wiser).
“Our Lucky Charm look is perfect for spring, with bold colours, playful designs and geometric shapes in cushions, rugs, and artwork,” says Katy Traill, senior design manager at George Home. “The trend infuses energy and creativity, making your space feel fresh and, most of all, fun.”
When it comes to taking some of that fun to your walls, Helen Shaw, director of marketing (international) at Benjamin Moore, suggests “hand-painting chunky, cabana-style bands on the diagonal to elongate a room’s proportions, choosing unexpected areas such as a wall return or skirting. Then carry the intention through with one or two striped pieces.”
Pastel farmhouse
Cottagecore, the rustic aesthetic that incorporates elements of rural life, has been given a revamp just in time for spring. Already popular in 2024, ‘farmhouse chic’ is here to stay, with natural materials such as wood, and biophilic patterns that celebrate the countryside, at its core – only now, it’s drenched in pastels, too.
Faded lilacs, sage greens and light corals team up with weathered finishes to create this mellow country look. Inspired by the natural world and with a touch of folklore, the House of Hackney’s Spell of Spring collection perfectly serves the aesthetic.
“For 2025, the colour palette is being reawakened,” says Chloe Vince, senior decorating consultant at House of Hackney. “You’ll see a shift away from the deep earthy tones that dominated interiors over the past year, towards fresh, reinvigorating pastel tones. Cool-tone mint greens and soft violet hues create the soothing, restorative environment we all long for.
“For a timeless look, I would suggest grounding your scheme in earthy, duskier tones first, which will then allow you to be playful with your pastels.” Chloe also suggests using pastel shades on skirting boards, woodwork or furniture. And, to complete the farmhouse look this spring, you can include vintage finds and floral wallpapers or upholster a family heirloom in a pastel, biophilic fabric.
Morning coffee
The world has gone wild on chocolatey shades lately, and we are here for it. From the so-called ‘latte interiors’ to accents of ‘mocha mousse’ (Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2025), coffee browns take centre stage, turning your space into one luscious brew.
And while brown is often associated with moodier seasons like autumn, a coffee-inspired hue will still create an ultra-cosy, elegant space, no matter the time of year. Danielle Le Vaillant, head of photography and film at Cox & Cox, says the colour offers the ideal foundation for soft pastels and vibrant florals, bringing an earthy sophistication to spring décor.
“Its versatile tone pairs beautifully with textured ceramics, rich-toned furniture and mocha-inspired textiles, creating inviting and timeless spaces. Whether you’re making a bold statement with standout pieces or adding subtle accents, the shade effortlessly bridges the gap between cosy and fresh.”
