Salone del Mobile Milano is one of the hottest events in the design calendar. So when the email from Samsung UK popped up in my inbox I was thrilled. The brand kindly invited me to fly to Milan to discover its new Bespoke kitchen range at EuroCucina. Of course, it doesn’t get more glam than Milan, so I quickly packed my bags!
But first, what is Salone del Mobile?
What is EuroCucina?
I spent two amazing days eating the best of Milan’s pizza, pasta and tiramisu, and indulging in a cheeky Prosecco or two, but first things first…
My glamorous press trip
The press trip began on Sunday, 5th of June. Together with a couple of journalists and Samsung’s PR representative, I boarded the plane, and speedily touched down in Milan. Of course, the first thing we did was head straight to an authentic Italian restaurant to fuel ourselves with delicious dishes and house wine and get ready for the fair.
Rested and recharged, the following day we got the chance to attend an exclusive media preview of the new Samsung Bespoke kitchen range. This was held at the very luxe Four Seasons Hotel.
On the 7th of June, the first official day of the Salone del Mobile fair, I drank two delicious Italian cappuccinos. Phone in one hand and press ticket at the ready, it was time to head into EuroCucina…
First stop, the Samsung exhibition, to explore the Bespoke launch in more depth. Its existing range of kitchen and living area appliances have had a modern upgrade with stylish colours, new features and premium finishes.
So, what can you expect in the near future? Well, domestic appliances with the latest technology. Such as? Well, AI-powered Bespoke ovens with Dual Cook Steam and Sense-to-Open functions, handy dishwashers and sleek hobs.
More from Samsung at Salone del Mobile
Looking to take your utility room to the next level? Samsung is expanding its Bespoke Home appliances to include an AI washer and dryer. I saw them at Salone del Mobile, and they’re available in the UK soon. Think clever functions, such as AI Optimal Dry, to safely and effectively dry items. Plus the Advanced Moisture Sensor, which detects changes in the humidity level to adjust the temperature and drying duration. Smart, hey?
With a bit of time left before heading back to the airport, I made the most of being in Milan and dashed around Salone del Mobile to see all the international kitchen and bathroom brand displays.
So stay tuned – I’ll share all the trends I spotted very soon.
Sneak peeks from Salone del Mobile
And that concludes my experience at Salone del Mobile Milano and the amazing press trip with Samsung. So many new and innovative products to look forward to and lots of inspiration for upcoming projects.
If Salone del Mobile looks like an event you’d love to go to, but you can’t quite manage an overseas trip, there’s always the KBB show in Birmingham, or indeed Clerkenwell Design Week. Here’s my recent write-up of Clerkenwell trends I spotted.
