Yellow kitchen ideas for a sunshine-drenched space

Fancy bringing a slice of sunshine to your interiors? Get inspired by these bright and beautiful yellow kitchens…
Yellow is undoubtably the colour of the moment. It not only took over the fashion world by storm, but also the interiors industry, inspiring Dulux’s uplifting Colour of the Year 2025, called True Joy, and KitchenAid’s creamy and utterly delicious Butter shade.
What’s more, this positive shade is particularly on the rise in kitchen design. “There’s something inherently joyful and uplifting about the colour; even on the dullest, greyest days, a yellow kitchen brings a sense of sunshine indoors,” says interior designer Uns Hobbs, founder of the eponymous studio, who’s also noticed this rise in popularity.
“It’s a colour that lifts the mood and energises the space. That said, choosing the right shade is key. You want something that brings warmth and light without feeling harsh or overwhelming,” she advises.

Thanks to its versatility, it suits a range of kitchen styles (such as classic Shaker or sleek and handleless), and you’ve got plenty of tones to play with, from butter yellow to muted mustard. “The versatility of these gentle shades means that they can pair really well with a variety of other colours, working harmoniously with them to create effortless design schemes whilst injecting a touch of joy and serenity into any room,” says Anna Hill, brand director and colour consultant at Fenwick & Tilbrook. For example, yellow works beautifully with soft pinks and greens, and even blues and dark, rich reds.
