How to register your appliances

Have you recently purchased a new kitchen with shiny new ovens, hob and fridge-freezer? Have you thought about registering your appliances?

Free and easy, The Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances‘ (AMDEA) Register My Appliance scheme ensures that owners can be contacted in the rare event of a product safety notification, recall or modification requirement.

And it’s not just for new models, as Paul Hide, AMDEA‘s chief executive officer, explains: “We urge anyone with unregistered appliances – whether brand-new, a pre-used buy, or installed a while ago – to register all their appliances so they can be contacted in case of any safety notifications, repairs or recalls.

“Most manufacturers accept registrations of machines up to 12 years old, and there’s no need for a proof of purchase. It’s a win-win for keeping your home safe and possibly increasing the life span of your machine.”

The Register My Appliance website offers a simple to use and free of charge route for all households to register all of their home appliances. Visit registermyappliance.org.uk to get started.
