Tell me, do you have a favourite place to sit at home? And are you sitting there right now? I hope so. I like to think our readers pick the perfect spot to perch, get all cosy with a nice steaming cup of something beside them, ready to get stuck into all our features. So, if you’re not lounging in your preferred reading nook, and you don’t have something scrumptious to sip on, may I recommend doing so?
I myself am currently sitting in one of my favourite places to be at home: my kitchen peninsula, on a rather comfy, velvet barstool. (I went for ones with a back – a top tip when choosing island seating.) Spring sunshine is streaming through the bi-folds (seriously highlighting toddler fingerprints) and my rather ancient cocker spaniel, Rudy, is resting at my feet, snoring vehemently.

Why is where you rest your derrière dominating my editor’s letter, I suspect you’re wondering. Well, it’s our main kitchen feature this month, and actually a very important thing to get right. (Plus, with two young children under five, getting to sit down for more than five minutes is such a luxury that I felt compelled to write about it.)
