10 fun and colourful bedroom wall ideas

Looking for ways to revamp your sleeping space? Be inspired by these innovative and interesting bedroom wall ideas…

The bedroom is for relaxation, but who says a chill space has to have plain white walls? Not us! We believe in expressing your style, so KBB journo Yvette Filer has found some brilliant bedroom wall ideas that are bold, fun and great for expressing your style.

Play with colour and texture

Although there are no hard and fast rules for designing your own bedroom –  one person’s idea of a relaxing sanctuary can be very different from another’s – creating a scheme with colours and textures you love is key to ensuring that your sleeping space is somewhere you’ll look forward to spending time in for years to come.

In terms of colour choice for a bedroom wall, there isn’t a wrong choice. Whether you prefer the calmness of pastels or the invigorating energy of brighter hues, the colours should always speak to you. Include a mix of tactile textures wood panelling, wool carpet and paint techniques such as limewashing – to help add depth to your space and create an individual look.

Then, once you have the scheme planned, you can add the all-important details: hang artwork above a headboard or place a colourful rug beneath your dressing table to help anchor the space and draw the eye to these areas. But, as well as the visual aspects of these design ideas, there’s a host of practical elements to consider, too.
