Create your dream kitchen moodboard: Hi October issue!

October issue of KBB magazine

The October issue of Kitchens Bedrooms & Bathrooms is out now! We’ve got some exciting features lined up for you – here’s what you can expect inside…

As I grow older, I’m becoming less fond of the summer months and appreciate autumn more (parenting toddlers when it’s over 25°C is not easy). I love the colours of this season, the clothes, the things that now come ‘spiced’, and the dates in the calendar – Halloween and Bonfire Night being two of my favourite events of the year. So, although I bitterly begrudge how quickly we’ve got here, I’m excited that October (at least, the October issue of KBB) has arrived. The magazine is packed full of features that are themselves packed full of advice, tips and inspiration – from our fun pick ‘n’ mix kitchen feature to bathroom zones and bedroom ideas.

Green bedroom design with patterned headboard, pink side board, and a barn door leading to the ensuite.
“Wallpaper and paint are great for adding interest and design details in an attic or eaves, where wall space for hanging pictures is limited,” says Melissa Hutley, co-founder and interior designer at Hutley & Humm.

Create your dream kitchen moodboard

If you’re like me and have a penchant for arts and crafts, this issue is for you. Our ‘pick ‘n’ mix’ kitchen feature sees us mixing and matching the main components of a design, from cabinets to taps, with the hopes you’ll get cutting and sticking to create the beginnings of your perfect kitchen moodboard.

You’ll also catch me and the team creating our own dream designs on our Instagram page, @kbbmagazine. Please share yours with us too!

And we’ve got plenty of other features you can steal inspiration from – including statement kitchen extraction, the journey of stone worktops, and The Great British Bake Off-inspired appliances.

Green kitchen design with bookmatched marble splashback.
Discover where your worktop originates from and the journey it takes before reaching your home. Bookmatched Breccia Capraia polished marble on the wall cladding, sink and worktop display at Roundhouse’s Richmond showroom.
Kitchen extraction feature on how to conceal your stark appliance.
As the extractor tends to be more of a stark appliance, hiding it can help soften the room.
Bake-Off inspired appliances to complete your cooking kit.

Renovation ideas and inspiration

A number of other articles will help you on your renovation journey, too. From bathroom zones to clever bedroom ideas, not forgetting our gorgeous real projects. These include a dramatic, inspiring kitchen design in a Grade I listed Palladian country house (which Napoleon III lived in for 18 months) to the total transformation of a Bristol terrace.

Bathroom zones feature for creating harmonious flow and enhancing the practicality of your space.
Zone your bathroom like a pro and make your space more functional with our complete guide.

And I particularly love our cover home. The kitchen includes a beautiful mix of mid-century pieces (very big right now), contemporary glazing and a bold, waterfall island. Simply gorgeous!
