What’s on offer
The 92cm zoneless induction hob from Caple has extra space for up to six pans, giving you the confidence to be more adventurous with your cooking, and you can pair it with an oversized connected extraction unit.
The latest models are made in stylish designs and contemporary finishes, sure to also upgrade the look of your utility room.
Latest functionality
These extra-large appliances are not only much bigger than the standard 60cm models, but offer the latest innovations on the market, too.
State-of-the-art, single-cavity ovens have capacities of up to 77 litres and dimensions of 90cm, with up to 13 pre-set programmes, rapid heat up times and temperature ranges between 30°C and 300°C, which makes cooking multiple dishes at once or batch cooking so much easier.
Four-door French-style supersized fridge-freezers with 735-litre capacities will provide more shelf space to stock up and keep your groceries neatly organised. These larger models also include fridge-to-freezer drawers with temperatures ranging from -1°C to 5°C, giving you that added flexible storage option when you need it.
Good to know
Bear in mind that the delivery costs will be more for extra-large appliances, as they are much heavier and obviously bigger than the standard models, so check the fine print with the retailer before you buy.
Discuss the installation requirements of each appliance as you may need to reinforce the floor to take the extra weight or have more electrical sockets fitted, especially for the larger range cookers and fridge-freezers. It’ll probably be less stressful if you arrange to take delivery of these larger freestanding appliances early on in a project, before walls and doors are fixed, to avoid any costly mishaps.
Buying tips for large kitchen appliances
When buying a larger appliance, plan carefully, as dimensions vary, and XL appliances are often not only wider but also much deeper. So, this will need to be accounted for in the layout. Once you’ve done your initial research online, it’s a good idea to see these larger appliances in the showroom, to get a real feel of how big they are and what they offer.
Check out the length of their warranties, too, as this will make repairs and servicing easier and cheaper – it may also be worth extending the warranty to extend the life of your appliance.
What will it cost?
An XL appliance will be more of an investment than a standard model, but the extra capacities and functionality it offers will mean it will, more than likely, last a lifetime.
A six-zone induction hob will cost around £4500 and an extra single oven can range from nearly £600 to £2000 depending on the brand. However, an extra-large, personalised range cooker in the colour of your choice can be anything from £20,000 to over £45,000.
