2025 is undoubtedly the year of bold and beautiful interiors adorned with colour and pattern, and this is reflected in the trends currently dominating the industry. Let’s take a closer look…
Homeowners have become more confident in decorating with joyful shades, from the colour-drenching decorating technique taking the interiors world by storm to the unexpected return of coloured sanitaryware, as well as mixing and matching prints.
I love this shift towards designs decked out in dopamine hues and packed with personality – they simply look and feel alive. So, if you, too, are considering picking up your paintbrush or ordering some daring pieces to inject colour and pattern into your space, this is the time to truly go for it.
In the myriad of mood-boosting colours, two are particularly standing out to me at the moment – butter yellow (no surprise here), and vibrant green. Soft, creamy, and utterly delicious, the former is the shade of the season. It’s warm, uplifting, and can be used in both big and small doses across kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and beyond. Click here to see how you can spread a bit of butter yellow in your interiors.
Whereas green is calming, versatile, and feels fresh thanks to its connection to nature. If you’ve been thinking about sprucing up your kitchen using this shade, check out these 10 real case studies to get inspired; there is something for everyone, whether you love a classic Shaker door in light sage, or sleek, handleless cabinetry in dark forest or olive.
Also on my radar…
As I mentioned earlier, coloured sanitaryware is having a resurgence in bathroom design. Particularly popular in the 1970s, avocado green is back and is a popular choice in 2025, covering everything from baths, basins, to tiles. Do keep in mind that trendy shades may come in and out of style, so selecting the right colour is key in ensuring your design stands the test of time. Don’t know where to start? And lastly, if you’re looking to add vibrant prints to the mix, it might be time to unleash your creativity and embrace a standout maximalist look. Konstantina has got the lowdown here; any excuse to add some character to our interiors, right?
What’s trending?
- Say goodbye to white walls and plain flooring, and hello, creative coverings! Opt for patterned wallpaper in your favourite shades to add interest to your interiors, and complementary rugs or runners for that extra layer of comfort.
- Looking to revive your kitchen? Choose classic appliances, with a twist. Range cookers and whistling kettles, available in mood-boosting shades, are bound to brighten up your space.
- Stripes may be having their moment in the spotlight, but gingham is equally charming! Use the pattern to dress your bed in breathable fabrics for a modern cottagecore look or to swap a simple vanity stool for a colourful upholstered model.
- Make a splash in your bathroom design with bold sanitaryware, whether it’s a timeless, painted freestanding tub or a modern, concrete basin in candy-inspired hues.
- Set the right atmosphere while also enhancing the aesthetic of your interiors with coloured, textured lighting, from pleated pendants to quirky table lamps.

Downstairs loos are the ideal place to have a bit of fun with your design. Think dopamine colours, daring wallpaper, and eccentric décor. I love this dramatic blue scheme with pink and gold accents.
This sophisticated kitchen merges fabulous looks with function. I’m particularly drawn to the coloured marble (another popular interiors trend this year; read all about it in our weekly newsletter) worktops and splashbacks, creating a nice contrast with the light cabinetry.
‘Mix and Maximalist’ is one of Pinterest’s trend predictions for 2025 (designing creative schemes using bold prints, texture, and joyful colours), which is what came to mind when I saw the striking wardrobes below by Kinder Design and specialist joinery brand East JR. The fronts feature durable wallpaper with a green metal trim and bespoke handles. For a nice surprise, the interiors are lined with a pink laminate.
