There’s something about April I’ve always loved – yes, probably because it’s my birthday month (and now it’s also my daughter Emmeline’s – which just so happens to be the same day as mine). Perhaps it’s because the days are lighter, with more sunshine, and the weather, while unpredictable, can be glorious.

It also feels like you’re properly getting stuck into the year; the dark gloomy months are behind you, plus it’s Easter, so there’s a lot of chocolate floating around, and it’s totally OK to eat it. Summer is just round the corner, plans are being made… it’s simply a positive month all round.

That’s what I hope this issue is for you: a very positive, handy guide for your project. Whether it’s images you want to cut out and stick in a scrapbook (trust me, it really is useful to take along to designers, plus it’s super-fun), or you need help figuring out where to start or who you need to talk to, or are simply after ideas you just hadn’t heard of or thought of yet.

The internet and social media are great, but when you don’t know what to look for, that search tool can feel mightily overwhelming. Let us be that initial step in your research, especially if it’s a kitchen transformation you’re dreaming of.
