Renovating a bathroom or planning a new project and are stuck on ideas? I’ve got you covered. So, to help get your creativity going, I’ve deep-dived on social media to find real stylish and inspiring bathrooms. Here are some great bathroom ideas on Instagram.
One of the perks of writing for @kbbmagazine and These Three Rooms is that I get to look at pretty images every day and chat to renovators about their amazing transformations. I can’t complain now, can I? So I’ve found some beautiful bathroom ideas on Instagram to get you inspired. I’ve also asked the homeowners to share their favourite design focuses.
Excited to see what’s in store? Then let’s begin…
Modern minimalism
First on my list of bathroom ideas on Instagram is Jo of @jo_at_sixty8‘s bathroom. It includes matt black accents, sleek sanitaryware and a pop of colour through the pretty pink vanity. One of my favourite focuses is probably the mix of surfaces – from the marble-effect tiles and stylish mosaic on the walls to the patterned design on the floor.
As for her favourite feature, she says it’s the pink vanity unit. “It was the starting point for the rest of the bathroom – I’d seen a pink unit in a showroom that even my husband liked. We’d never seen pink used in a bathroom before, but it was well over our budget so, I sourced one that was more affordable. I love how it looks with the super modern black hardware and marble backsplash.”
The matt black accents also add a nice contrast – did you spot the stunning sculptural side table? So chic. This is one of our favourite bathroom ideas on Instagram.
Stylish sanctuary
Up next on my list of bathroom ideas on Instagram is Katie of @therowe‘s stunning space, which is also a location house. Neutral and pared-back, the bathroom displays exposed bricks that draw the eye in and a central freestanding bath – plus a chic shower and a pretty getting-ready vanity area.
The gold accents add a dash of luxury to the space while the shower niche and handy storage shelf on the opposite side enhance the practicality factor.
When I asked Katie about her favourite feature, she said the mid-century sideboard. It certainly adds plenty of character to the space. “We converted it into a vanity unit – the warmth of the wood balances the monochrome palette and works perfectly with our marble splashback,” she says. Clever idea.
Timeless bathroom ideas on Instagram
If you made me pick a favourite bathroom from Jenny of @the_foreverhome_project‘s home… it would be a difficult decision. She has so much to offer in the way of bathroom ideas on Instagram. Each of her bathrooms oozes style, practicality and elegance – from the family bathroom to the chic downstairs loo. Think wall panelling, brass finishes, glamorous tiles and dreamy shower areas.
“I generally love quite traditional bathrooms mixed with modern elements,” says Jenny. “So, we’ve followed that formula in each bathroom. In the family bathroom, I really love the vanity unit. Again, this is quite traditional so we paired it with the Kast concrete sink to make it feel slightly more modern.”
“In our en-suite, it’s all about the taps and the tiles for me. I love the warmth of the colours in the tiles and the taps are such beautiful quality and their design just feels quite unique. The reeded glass shower screen is also pretty special,” she continues. Read on for more bathroom ideas on Instagram…
“For the downstairs bathroom, I knew I wanted to use wallpaper and panelling to achieve a traditional look and my favourite part of this room is the mix of patterns with the graphic tiles and William Morris wallpaper. And I love the Crittal-style shower screen, too” she concludes.
Pop of colour
Firstly, how pretty is Heather of @heatherrosieolivehome‘s pink and green bathroom? Secondly, I am a bit obsessed with the statement patterned honeycomb tiles on the floor, as well as the striped design in the shower. Great for a family bathroom as well as an adults-only ensuite, the space includes a freestanding bath and a vanity unit and shower on the opposite side.
A clever way to keep your bathroom dry is by sectioning off the shower. Why not go for a stylish door instead of the classic enclosure? I also love the linear features, from the wall panelling and matching wood on the vanity to the minimalist brass mirror, lighting and shower screen.
“My favourite feature is my wooden panelling and the green and pink I have chosen. I get my colourful decor but it’s a bit more mellow for a warm, relaxing environment,” says Heather.
Bold and eclectic
Last but not least in my roundup of bathroom ideas on Instagram is Nina of @artdecojewel‘s vintage-style space. I do have a soft spot for blue bathrooms as they boast a calming feeling. One feature that caught my eye in Nina’s bathroom is the tile choice – from the pretty pastel square design on the walls to the black and white mosaic on the floor. The black paint on the door and decorative panel matches the classic bath and adds depth and interest.
If you’re looking for ideas on Instagram on how to make your bathroom more multi-functional, why not go for a shower-bath like pictured below? Thus, this way, you can have the best of both worlds. Nina went for traditional-style brassware and lighting to complete the scheme, plus a sleek and simple enclosure.
Nina thinks it’s difficult to pick just one favourite design focus in her bathroom. “It’s the combination of contrasting tiles, vintage glass lighting, clean lines and an uncluttered space that works for us – it’s so calming, which you need in London,” she says.
In conclusion, bathroom ideas on Instagram can be the ultimate source for inspiration. From layouts and tile choices to shower plus bath combos and pretty colour palettes, I hope you found a few ideas for your project. Ready to put your moodboard together?
