Industrial style basins for a super-cool bathroom

What’s your bathroom style? We know that the days of the trusty white suite have gone, making way for a much more personalised look. Mixing and matching your fittings is so on trend now and there is a vast selection of styles you can go for, from country charm or industrial chic to uber contemporary or classic. But where to start I hear you say? Well, we start and finish our day at the basin and it’s often the focal point of our bathroom spaces so it is top of the list when considering your which style to go for.

I’ve always loved the industrial look – bold, striking and super-cool. Black frames, matt finishes and concrete-effect bowls – this is a chic style for any space, no matter its size. And design journo, Jill Morgan agrees, she has selected her top industrial style basins…

Industrial basins
Kast’s Vos Basin, £2448, from Ripples can be fitted to a wall or placed on a countertop and features a geometric pattern. Choose from 28 colours, including Sandcastle, as shown. Team with a deck or wall-mounted tap.
Invest in a bold basin. The large scale and unfussy lines of Aston Matthews’ Metro three-hole ceramic basin with Brunel basin stand in Machine Grey, £1867.50, are emphasised by the no-frills metal frame.
Industrial basins
Make an impact with raw stone and polished brassware. This dark Norwegian stone was formed millions of years ago and its natural markings are emphasised by the simple curved bowl and monolithic upstand. Antique Stone Basin, £1400 and Antique real stone, from £970 per sq m, both Lundhs Real Stone.
We can’t resist the tactile rawness of concrete – cue this Trough basin vanity set, £2240, from Nood Co Concrete. Its shelf and rounded profile helps soften the look.
Industrial basins
Designed and hand-cast in the UK by Whitebirk Sink Company, the Calder countertop basin, £429, is well suited to the ever-popular industrial look. Tall, with straight sides and a clean, circular shape, it is perfect for teaming with spout-style fillers and upcycled units. Choose from seven contemporary colours.
