How To Buy A Kitchen Or Bathroom, the podcast brought to you by These Three Rooms & KBB magazine, is back with series four! And we have a new host – drum roll please…
Acting editor Georgina Townshend is stepping in for editor Lindsay Blair while she’s on maternity leave. She is ready to bring you ten fresh episodes in series four of our How To Buy A Kitchen Or Bathroom podcast, which are filled with practical advice, plenty of inspiration and brilliant new ideas.
Throughout the series, host Georgina is joined by interior designers Pia Pelkonen, from Pia Design, and Amy Stoddart, from Amy Rebecca Interiors, along with other experts, to chat all things kitchen and bathroom.
“To switch things up, the episodes were recorded in person, in our office. I wanted our conversations to be more like informal chats where you can hopefully get lots of tips and advice from, while also joining us for a laugh along the way,” says host Georgina.

How To Buy A Kitchen Or Bathroom podcast: Series four, episode one
In the first episode, now live, Georgina and interior designers Pia and Amy tackle all things bathroom design. So, you can expect quirky cloakrooms with disco balls and x-rated wallpaper. Picture beautiful yet practical family bathrooms and super luxurious ensuites – they cover it all.
“I love designing for my clients. A big part of my design ethos is finding out what my clients love and what their personalities are, then presenting this in a fun way. I recently designed a cloakroom where we picked a wallpaper that had quite abstract illustrations of people doing some slightly naughty things. When you first look at it, you think ‘Oh, it’s really pretty’. Once you are looking at it closely, you go ‘What is happening here’,” says Pia.

They also discuss where you should start with designing these spaces, and how you can make them right for you and your lifestyle – plus much more. Excited? We know we are!
“In my designs, I really like adding, where possible, vintage or reclaimed elements – not everything needs to be brand new. Also, window treatment, wall colours and not tiling the whole space are great options for adding layers to soften the bathroom, which is normally quite clinical,” says Amy.
