Mustard yellow: how to use it in your kitchen, bedroom and bathroom

Mustard yellow is bang on trend. Recently, I’ve spotted a shift from calm and pared-back neutrals to bold and bright colours – and I absolutely love it. Colour is a great and easy way to introduce a pop of personality in your space and brighten it up a bit. And, for me, there’s one shade in particular that stands out: mustard yellow.

Why is mustard yellow so popular? Well, this deeper shade of yellow promotes positivity, so it’s a guaranteed mood booster. Whether you choose to add a touch of cheerful yellow to your kitchen through a colourful banquette or create a cosy cocooning feeling in your bedroom with matching paint, bedding and storage solutions, you are set to feel energised.

This sunny shade goes well with both earthy neutrals and darker hues like indigo blue, emerald green and rusty red. As for materials and finishes, choose natural textures like rattan and jute to create a Zen sanctuary or solid wood and metallics for a contemporary scheme. However, it does look great in any scheme, from modern-rustic and traditional to glam and modern.
