Jealous, moi? Whatever gave you that idea?
Kitchen wishlist
I am sure like us you have an impressive kitchen wishlist. I watched Beckham on Netflix and after one episode was convinced I needed, yes really needed, a stainless kitchen work surface, splashback and units. And so, to help you with your kitchen renovation, we’ve compiled our must-have and most lust-worthy kitchen items.
On mine right now is a pantry. Sigh, I’m just longing for one. All my cupboards are heaving with ingredients that topple out every time I open them. Then there’s the pinkish and lightly veined marble-topped island that’s big enough to dance on. And yes, while I’m on the subject, I’d also like a wheel prep table. That’s not too greedy, is it?
Dressing rooms
Another big-ticket item for many of us is a luxurious dressing room – somewhere to show off our Imelda Marcos-style shoe collection. According to Jeffreys Interiors, it’s one of the most requested items in home renovations right now. And including one in your home is not as impossible as you might imagine.
We speak to interior designers, who share their top tips on creating a more streamlined space for your clothing and accessories – whether you’ve room for a walk-in closet complete with a velvet pouffe to lay out next day’s clothing or perhaps, more realistically, need to steal some useful space from your landing area…

Real homes
I loved writing about the imaginative kitchen of Alice and Peter in St Margarets in Surrey, where the talented Polish designer Kasia Piorko, whose name translates to Kate Feather in English, has created a light-filled space that’s designed to grow with the family. Kasia has made sure to include features that reflect the house’s architectural past, from the traditional panelling to the sliding doors of the pantry inspired by the former stables, which are now a light-filled artist’s studio and garden room.

Designer interviews
And finally, I catch up with the kitsch-loving design duo Divine Savages, who tell us not to be shy when choosing a wallpaper design for our homes. They’ve worked on some fun collaborations over the last year, including a loungewear line with slow-fashion brand Byroses and a fun project with Pikes, a hotel and nightclub in Ibiza. It’s been around for decades and has been much loved by rock stars and crooners including Joan Baez, Grace Jones and Freddie Mercury, who even has a dancefloor named after him!
