What’s trending: ways to bring the holiday feeling to your home

Whether you’re lounging in the garden or somewhere in the Mediterranean, and want to make that holiday feeling last, we’re looking at ways to celebrate summer in your interiors, no matter the season.

It’s officially the summer holiday – are you somewhere out there exploring foreign countries, entertaining kids and family outdoors, or taking a moment to recharge with a good book and a cuppa? Personally, I am kindly ignoring the weather outside my window, as I am being mentally teleported to a Mediterranean destination – feet sunken in golden sand, a frosty piĂąa colada in hand, with salty waves and happy giggles as background noise.

At the end of every holiday, I always wish I could bottle up this blissful feeling and bring it home with me. So, if you, too, long for that wholesome, carefree atmosphere, I’ve rounded up some clever ways to make it last in your interiors…

Starting with Mediterranean-style kitchens – if you are planning a renovation and want to embrace this rustic aesthetic, I’ve asked the experts for their top design tips. Characterised by burnt tones, such as terracotta or ochre, next to warm, creamy neutrals, invitingly tactile texture, and handcrafted elements, this look exudes a homely feeling; it’s deeply personal yet timeless, too, thanks to classic features such as Shaker cabinetry and hardworking materials.

If this sounds like your style, steal a couple of ideas for your moodboard and find out all the details that go into recreating this look by clicking here.

Nothing compares to spending quality time at home during the summer holiday. So, make sure to equip your garden for both relaxed mornings and busy barbecue evenings with the latest chair and table designs. There is a wide variety of styles available, and a multitude of materials and colourways suitable to any garden size, such as chic compact bistro sets and extra-large dining solutions.

And no outdoor set-up is complete without pretty and practical parasols and pergolas. They not only protect you from UV rays, offering the perfect shady spot, but they can also elevate the aesthetic of your garden, whether you opt for a colourful striped umbrella or a more pared-back, Scandi-style design. Picture striking flamingo wallpaper, mountainscape tile patterns, and vibrant colour palettes, as well as practical features ideal for bathtime. (I’m going to be honest and say these designs could be perfect for a fun ‘grown-up’ space, too.)
