1. Whimsical woodlands

Picture shades of ochre, russet and moss, natural materials such as raw wood beams and textured cobblestone floors, and an abundance of tactile fabrics and materials perfect for keeping warm during chilly evenings. Taking inspiration from walks in misty forests, this trend is all about bringing a touch of nature in while indulging in the charming aesthetic of rustic cottages.

Freestanding furniture is ideal for recreating this look, whether that’s an island on wheels or a vintage bathroom vanity. Decorate your rooms with accessories with an unfinished look such as mottled vases, organically shaped porcelainware and aged hardware. And, if you’re a fan of patterns, opt for fabrics with flora – think ferns, woodland vines, and brambles – and fauna motifs in autumnal colourways.

2. Cottagecore chic

Put a romantic, pastel twist on the rustic cottagecore aesthetic and achieve the dreamiest sleep haven in your bedroom this Autumn Winter 2024 season. For a homely feeling, mix and match bed linen with ditsy floral patterns, cushions adorned with fringe and tassels, and cosy throws in soft, muted tones. Choose traditional-style furniture in cream shades, adorned with decorative mouldings and fluting, to sort your storage needs and show your walls a bit of love with vintage prints and artwork sat behind glass, antique frames.

3. Pattern play

Pattern drenching is the hottest decorating idea in the world of interiors at the moment. What is it, I hear you ask? Using a clever combination of prints – on the walls, floors, furnishings, and yes, even the ceiling – to achieve a statement scheme.

The more the better – this trend is ideal if you’re more of a maximalist and don’t shy away from clashing patterns and daring pops of colour. To find out more about embracing this trend, click here.

4. Spicy autumn

When the autumn-winter season rolls around, the air turns nostalgic with aromas of sweet pumpkin and earthy nutmeg wafting down the street. So, add a bit of spice to your kitchen, bedroom or bathroom through decorations drenched in deep orange, tactile terracotta tiles, or burnt sienna furniture. This shade works in tandem with creams and browns, as well as natural materials such as wood, jute and rattan.

5. Jewellery box bathrooms

Boutique bathrooms, cloakrooms and powder rooms are rising in popularity. So why not give your scheme a bit of TLC this Autumn Winter 2024 with the help of sumptuous veiny surfaces, furniture drenched in rich jewel tones, statement basins, metallic brassware, ornate architectural detailing and opulent accessories – all meant to help you emulate the interiors of a luxurious jewellery box with each element shining like a gemstone inside the room.

Complete the look with sophisticated wallpaper with glamorous prints in colours such as sapphire, ruby and emerald, vintage mirrors and extravagant lights.

6. Curves and arches

Although not new, curves are reaching a new level this Autumn Winter 2024 season. Think intricate entryways to pantries, curved shower walls, arched enclosures, and statement storage or dining nooks. So, if you’re planning a kitchen or bathroom renovation and you wish to add some visual interest while prioritising practicality, why not embrace this fun architectural feature?

7. Minimalist luxury

The ‘quiet luxury’ trend – all about prioritising craftsmanship and quality materials when decorating your home – is not going anywhere. So, strip back your scheme and highlight simple yet statement furniture such as stone kitchen islands, bouclé sofas, beds or accent chairs, fluted side tables, and white, minimalist sanitaryware.

Keep the colour palette on the pared-back spectrum, with off-whites, creams, and taupe as the perfect blank canvas and invite pops of colour in through soft, earthy shades like terracotta. Layer your lighting to set a serene atmosphere and indulge in comfort through plush cushions and tactile throws crafted from organic fabrics.

The mid-century style is having a comeback this Autumn Winter 2024 with brands bringing out furniture with sleek lines and curvy, organic shapes. Brown, orange and mustard yellow are extremely popular, along with natural materials such as leather, and raw textures. To add further interest and get the look, opt for pieces ornate with reeding and fluting or embellished with aged metallic frames.
