Welcome to the May 2021 issue of Kitchens Bedrooms & Bathrooms magazine, which is all about new renovation projects.
Thereâs a lot of talk of the âlockdown effectâ in interiors right now. In design terms, the last year has been rather exciting.
Iâve experienced tenfold how many people have started new renovation projects. I’ve learned what the quest for the perfect kitchen, bedroom and bathroom means to you and heard about the new projects youâre tackling.
Thereâs no denying lockdown has encouraged us to forge ahead with renovations that may have been âmaybe one dayâ thoughts before. Itâs allowed us time to reflect on how our spaces could and should be better.
Home bars are becoming a staple; at-home entertaining spaces have never been more sought after; top appliances are making their way onto many wishlists in a plight to perfect those fakeaway and sourdough skills; and requests for integrated home working areas and zoned living are much more prevalent.
The effect has spread outdoors too, which youâll know if youâve tried, like me, to get your hands on garden furniture lately. Now a valuable room in its own right, the garden is a place for bubbled, socially distanced meet-ups. So weâre investing in making them look the part, complete with an outdoor kitchen, comfortable dining area and space for after-dinner entertaining. New renovation projects are definitely on the cards.
And for the bedroom and bathroom?
Well, itâs all about sanctuary and escape: creating a space of total chill. Who doesnât need that? I think weâve always known the importance of home, but recent events have taking this to new heights.
In the May 2021 issue, discover how to create your ideal kitchen indoors and out. There are 10 steps to getting an amazing alfresco cooking area, while we reveal which kitchen layout will best suit your lifestyle.
Take a look at the gorgeous cover!
And if the past year has made you realise you need more space, there’s a rather excellent feature with extension planning advice.
As lockdown begins to ease and showrooms reopen, your project may only just be beginning. Donât forget, your ideal designer could be right on your doorstep â check out Close To Home to find local, independent specialists part of our initiative.
So what new renovation projects are you planning?
Enjoy the issue!
