December 2021 issue: The entertaining special

There’s an excitement in the air at These Three Rooms / @kbbmagazine HQ. Not only are we getting back in the swing of office life as we return for a few days a week, but we’re optimistically looking forward to what the winter season has to bring – by which, of course, I mean the festivities. So say hello to the December 2021 issue.

Like many of the team and likely you too, I spent a rather quiet Christmas with my nearest and dearest at my home in 2020. And while it brought with it plenty of joy and a well-earned rest, it wasn’t quite the same as the usual fun-filled celebrations I enjoy with friends and family, with all the trimmings.

So, when the team and I came to plan the December 2021 issue, we knew we had to fill it with everything you might need to prepare your home for the return of parties. The result? The A-Z of entertaining: an all-encompassing guide to sorting your kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms ready for a season of family fun.

We’ve covered all the key things you’ll need – from home bars and coffee accessories, dining furniture, quick and easy guest room updates and ideas for those finishing touches (including some lovely gifts), to ways of creating a flexible kitchen-diner to suit all eventualities, whether entertaining or not; how you can make your bathroom more hygienic (and easier to clean – bonus); and our pick of the latest appliances to take some of the stress out of cooking for the crowds.

We’ve selected the projects that, to us, say ‘party ready’ but also work wonderfully for day-to-day family life, starting with this month’s cover house which is a glamorous kitchen with cleverly designed zones for cooking, eating and relaxing.

Speaking of down time, once the celebrations are over, I wouldn’t mind chilling out in the bedroom-bathroom suite on page 114. The owners of that property certainly had the right idea – it looks like a totally blissful space in which to unwind.

I do hope that mine and the team’s optimism pays off and we can all enjoy a good knees up this December. Whatever happens, we wish you a wonderful time of year.
