Our Christmas faves… team These Three Rooms on getting festive

One of the best things about the festive season is the chance to spend time at home, cosy up in front of the TV, and indulge in your favourite food and drink, plus make plans for the year ahead, right?  But if one thing’s for sure, we all have slightly different festive traditions and Christmas faves, so in a bid to 1. be nosy and 2. spread some cheer, I asked the team (and myself) what we most like to eat, drink and do over the Christmas holidays…and what we’ve got on our shopping and to-do lists for the year ahead.

Lindsay’s Christmas faves…

Eating

Everything! Christmas dinner has to be one of my favourite meals of the year – the more pigs in blankets, stuffing, and cranberry sauce the better.
This year I’m not cooking.

Drinking

Baileys, no ice.

Watching

Animated films from 10am. Pyjamas all day.

Reading

My latest charity book shop find. And @kbbmagazine of course!

Spending time…

With family. I’m thinking walks in the countryside to blow away those cobwebs. My favourite place has to be the Northumberland coastline.

Doing

Nothing strenuous, that’s for sure. We could all do with some R&R after 2020, right?

Planning

My veg patch for next year! Anyone else loved gardening this year? My herb garden is my new pride and joy.

On my shopping list…

A bigger desk for my home office with better storage. Or maybe I need to organise better?

If I could change one thing about my kitchen, bedroom or bathroom…

I’d add a breakfast cupboard complete with coffee station for the morning routine.

Georgina’s Christmas faves…

Eating

A feast of carbs – from crunchy roast potatoes to Christmas-inspired crisps.

Eating and drinking lots of naughty things.

Planning

The next decorating project to put the finishing touches to my house renovation.

On my shopping list…

A big freestanding bath – in a statement shade.

If I could change one thing about my kitchen, bedroom or bathroom…

I’d update my bedside lamps to two hanging pendants either side.

Stefanie’s Christmas faves…

Eating

Christmas treats from my home town in Germany. Spiced biscuits, marzipan, lebkuchen – I’m in heaven.

Drinking

Peppermint and liquorice tea.

Watching

All the Disney films I can get my hands on.

Reading

Ron Chernow’s 900-page biography of Alexander Hamilton.

Spending time…

Doing virtual dance classes or being snuggled up at home.

Doing

Reading, dancing, chilling and just enjoying the festivities.

Planning

All the shows I want to see when theatres can finally reopen again – soon I hope!

On my shopping list…

A really good mattress and an extra-large duvet.

If I could change one thing about my kitchen, bedroom or bathroom…

Swap my gas cooker for an induction hob.

Hannah’s Christmas faves…

Eating

I love a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings – sprouts (yes, sprouts!) and Yorkshire puddings covered in gravy are my favourite.

Drinking

A cold glass of New Zealand sauvignon blanc for me.

Watching

Elf is my all time favourite. My boys haven’t seen it yet so I’m looking forward to watching it with them in our PJs.

Reading

I love reading, especially at Christmas when there is an excuse to lounge around all day. My current book is Educated by Tara Westover.

Wrapping presents and cooking together. I love the build up in the days before Christmas.

Next year I’m hoping to find my green fingers and get in the garden more. The boys loved growing their own vegetables this year.

On my shopping list…

That amazing new KitchenAid from my baking gift guide.

If I could change one thing about my kitchen, bedroom or bathroom…

Next on our list is to tile our breakfast bar to make it more of a statement. I just need to choose the tiles. Catch up on my renovation blog here.

Christmas comedies – Four Christmases and The Night Before are two of my faves.

Reading

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
